I am a recent undergraduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both political science and history. I chose both of those highly analytic majors because I have always enjoyed obtaining facts to make an intelligent argument. However I feel most accomplished using these skills on the behalf of others, a lesson I learned as a lawyer for my mock trial team in high school. Since this experience I have aspired to work in the legal field, which is why my most recent internship at the Attorney General's Office is a perfect fit for me. The purpose of this portfolio is to exemplify my time at the Attorney General’s Office with the Victim Services Unit. Among the usual office tasks I created brochures of the legal process for victims of a felony crime, learned how to communicate effectively and professionally with victims of a felony crime, and became proficient in answering discovery questions for the defendant’s lawyer. All of this along with my writing samples and letters of references will be seen throughout this site. |
